The archive came first

For a decade we've been reading what UK private companies file with Companies House. Tens of millions of accounts, every iXBRL tag, every directors' report, every PSC filing — kept, parsed and indexed instead of summarised and discarded.

That archive is the foundation. The 41-point Financial Signal Taxonomy, the Real-Time Margin Shift, the Transparency Index, the Virtual Office Risk Index — every product we ship is a different lens onto the same underlying body of UK regulatory disclosure.

We didn't set out to build a credit-bureau alternative. We set out to keep the parts of UK filings the bureaus throw away. The product followed.

What we sell

Signals — not lists, not scores, not interpretations. The Daily Signal API returns named, typed events derived directly from the iXBRL stream, each traceable to its source filing reference. If your compliance team asks how a number was computed, we can show them.

Customers use the signals for M&A origination, vendor-risk monitoring, regulatory oversight, and alt-data factor builds. The shape of the contract changes; the underlying data layer doesn't.

Archive Partners is part of the Love the Idea family and the LTI Digital Observatory — the same team that's been building UK-data-native research products since 2016.

What we believe

Four principles. Every product decision rolls up to them.

  1. 01

    Tag-level, not summary-level.

Companies House publishes the iXBRL filings. Most credit bureaus throw the underlying tags away and keep only summary scores. We keep the tags. The signal lives in what other products discard.

  2. 02

    Provenance is non-negotiable.

Every signal we emit is traceable to a specific iXBRL tag on a specific filing on a specific date. We don't synthesise. We don't smooth. We don't substitute sector averages when a tag is missing — we surface the gap honestly.

  3. 03

    Methodology is a public artefact.

If a regulator asks how a signal was computed, the answer is documented. Methodology changes are versioned, signed and exposed as structured fields. Black-box scoring isn't audit-defensible; we don't ship it.

  4. 04

    UK depth over global breadth.

We don't dilute UK coverage to claim global reach. Archive Partners is built for UK private and listed companies, deeply, because that's where the iXBRL stream is rich enough to do this work properly.
